Community-Based Organization Serving Eight Counties in Georgia

Gateway Community Service Board, as an instrumentality of the State of Georgia, is a public community-based organization serving eight Georgia counties, including Camden, Glynn, McIntosh, Liberty, Chatham, Bryan, Long, and Effingham. The organization is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors appointed by the County Commissions of the counties we serve.

For purposes of managing and holding real property to house consumers in our various programs, Gateway operates one subsidiary, Distinctive Housing Solutions, as a non-profit (501c3) organization.

Mission Statement

Gateway's mission is to be a leader in providing comprehensive community services for mental health, substance use disorders, and developmental disorders to its people and communities.

Words of Encouragement

Gateway Women’s Residential has given me numerous opportunities and resources to help me build my life again. I was accepted to the program, they gave me a safe and clean living environment, transported me to my doctor appointments, and provided me education and skills to remain sober. Most importantly, they made me comfortable. They showed me love and support and have helped me every step of this journey.

I like coming to the Center because it gives me a chance to get out of the house and be around other people. Gateway helped me to be independent and to continue to live on my own. I also like to work and make money.

I have been coming to Gateway for a long time (14 years). I like seeing everyone. I have learned to clean the building. I like my job and love getting a paycheck. I like going on outings and the parties we have. I want to go to the movies.

I like to come to the Gateway Training Center because it gives me something to do, helps me socialize with my friends, and I like every person there.

I came to Gateway Women’s Residential broken, bitter, hurt, and angry. The staff have been phenomenal and I thank God that someone cared enough to show me structure in life. We were able to peel back my many layers like an onion to address my addiction, mental, physical, and spiritual health. My life has changed and I’ll be forever grateful for the gift of self-confidence I’ve gained. When I didn’t believe in myself to be a good mama, Gateway believed for me and taught me how to do it until I could myself. The environment was kid friendly from day one and I’ll forever be grateful to Gateway for helping bring the relationship between me and my daughter back to life.

Let Gateway light the way to a new future!
